On a day where lax accountability and reckless borrow and spend policies in Washington are in the forefront of the nation's mind, this 30 second video summarizing four years of broken government encapsulates the need for change in Washington:
Please join me in the comments section below for a liveblog discussion of how Washington is broken and what we can do to fix it...
What we're seeing with the failure and forced sale of two of our nation's largest lending firms is ultimately the product of some much bigger problems. And by that, I don't just mean Washington's culture of debt.
For decades, politicians and Fortune 500 companies have acted as if they don't have to live according to the same rules we do: that you don't borrow more than you can afford. We're seeing the effects of their borrow-and-spend attitude today.
That's not a reflection of Nebraska's bedrock values and it's certainly not the kind of leadership our nation needs today.
I support ending predatory lending, establishing more accountability and oversight, and closing loopholes that allow corporations to circumvent our laws. You can read more about my economic policies on my website, www.ScottKleeb.com.
Tonight, I'd love to hear your thoughts and point of view in the comments section below...
