Sunday morning we launched our Countdown to Change Tour of Nebraska from my family's house in Hastings, Nebraska.
As I told you Friday, we will travel to thirty cities and towns in ten days in my pickup truck and allow Nebraskans from every corner of our state to write out the kind of change they want to see in Washington directly on the sides of my truck...like this woman in North Loup, Nebraska below:
Please join me below for a bit more of day one of my Truckin' for Change road journal...
This is what is looked like Sunday morning in Hastings as our road crew, Kevin and Liz and I prepared to kick off the tour:
After Mass in St. Paul, we stopped at the Sweet Shoppe:
There were so many Nebraskans in St. Paul who had a message to write on the side of my truck:
This girl from St. Paul had a simple message..."Kids Care":
This young woman in North Loup wants better, higher-paying jobs:
The winds were incredibly gusty by late-aternoon, but that didn't stop this man from Ord, Nebraska to write about his concern about oursourcing jobs:
This woman in Broken Bow asked me to fight for access to health care:
These supporters in Broken Bow joined for a group picture after signing the truck:
::
That's just of few of the many Nebraskans we met and invited to participate in changing our nation this election year by signing my truck and signing up to volunteer for our campaign.
I will keep sending you these journal updates from road and hope your are inspired by the faces and words of these Nebraskans. I know I am. Something is happening in Nebraska.
